Much Ado About Prophetic Events

Theology and Politics from a Conservative, Biblical Perspective

Like many of you, I’ve been reading a good many articles from the guys within prophecy circles and much of it has to do with when the Rapture will occur and when other events will take place that will lead us directly into the Tribulation. I like to keep tabs on what others are teaching about prophetic events. However, the constant attention given to the possibility of world war three, the collapse of the dollar, worldwide famine and more is somewhat frustrating. Admittedly, I have absolutely no idea when these things might occur because the Bible provides no specific dates. Certainly there are signs, times and seasons we should be aware of, but some of the talk surrounding many of these events said to soon occur could essentially be empty hype, in my opinion. They may have some merit, but we cannot know for certain until they actually occur. So do we stop living in the meantime? Do we pull up a chair and just watch what might unroll?

I’m not trying to minimize what could actually occur or, for that matter, the study of prophecy itself. It’s just difficult when you realize you have zero control over the failure of the dollar, WWIII or numerous other events occurring throughout the world (like the weather). Moreover, nearly every article I read warning of the dollar’s soon demise reads like a commercial to buy crypto. If it’s not that, it’s “buy this book!” or “attend this conference!” Everyone seems to have an angle.

Again, I cannot change any of what may be coming. All I can do is try to live life in the best way I can in spite of it all. While I fully understand that knowledge is power and we should want to understand the times (unlike the people of Noah’s and Lot’s days who were completely blind to what was heading their way until it was too late), I have to come to deal with the things I can control and simply be aware of the things I cannot control. It’s those things I cannot control that offer the biggest temptation to worry and become agitated and when left unchecked can immobilize a person.

But God has something to say about these situations for believers and by way of example, we can go to Isaiah 65 to learn more. In that chapter, God warns those who are part of Israel, but continually rejected Him and His ways.

Yet, within that unholy group of people who lived within Israel, there were the faithful people, those who truly sought God and endeavored to live lives that pleased Him. They didn’t simply offer words that sounded good and offerings that God had decreed, while secretly or even openly prostrating themselves before false idols. These people were faithful to God. They wanted to please Him from their hearts. They wanted to live lives that pleased Him and He promised to reward that.

God compares these two groups in Isaiah 65:13-14 and tells us what He has planned for both groups.

Behold, My servants shall eat,
But you shall be hungry;
Behold, My servants shall drink,
But you shall be thirsty;
Behold, My servants shall rejoice,
But you shall be ashamed;
Behold, My servants shall sing for joy of heart,
But you shall cry for sorrow of heart,
And wail for grief of spirit.

Comparing and contrasting the two groups, notice that in spite of troubles that might occur, God would feed His true servants, while those who rejected Him would go hungry. He would give the former group drink, while the latter group would go thirsty. The one group would be ashamed while the other rejoices, etc.

My take is that while the description applies specifically to those within Israel (and members of other non-Jewish nations, aka Gentiles), He promises to feed and care for those who trust in Him. I think the application of this can and does apply to true believers today. What separates the two groups is whether or not they trust the Lord and are willing to follow Him. He rewards those who do.

If we listen to all the prophecy pundits out there, we could be in a constant state of tension leading to fear. This is not true of all of them, by the way, but is it any wonder then that society will arrive to a time when men’s hearts will fail them for fear, (Luke 21:26)? Real or imagined, we can end up truly scaring ourselves because of what we think is going to happen in society. Choose wisely who you read and listen to. One prophecy teacher I appreciate is Daymond Duck, whose latest article titled “A Great Day is Coming” is worth the read.[1]

In spite of all the musings within prophetic circles, I’m still not sure how anyone can say with any certainty that we are on the cusp of anything or that the Rapture is the next thing on God’s prophetic timetable. We could be, but it’s not as though we know everything that will occur prior to the Rapture and/or start of the Tribulation and we certainly have no clue as to God’s specific timing of many events.

God has not revealed everything to us. He has given us an overview of how the future will unroll complete with many details. However, He has, in most cases, not provided all the details or the timing of events. If we look simply to the Old Testament, we can clearly see even when He foretold events that would occur through the various prophets like Isaiah, He still did not provide every detail. He gave an overview with some detail; enough for the Israelites to know that God had called it and His Word was true because of specific events that occurred. In some cases, as in the case of Cyrus, God even provided the name of that particular king roughly 150 years before he arrived on the scene.

But here in 2025, many seem to think they are in the know about not only what events will occur and in what order, but generally when and how they will occur. If they want to believe that, it’s certainly up to them, but from my perspective, it is difficult if not impossible to determine timing and the exact way the events will unfold. Jesus said there would be “wars and rumors of wars,” which tells me not every rumor of a war will turn into an actual war. We cannot be sure at all.

There were also numerous times when God said that things would happen “soon.” Isaiah is filled with words from our Lord that appear to indicate things will occur “soon,” and yet, in some cases, hundreds of years if not a few thousand years passed before His Words were fulfilled. When we hear “soon” from someone, we think not long in coming. Yet, from God’s perspective, “soon” may not mean that. He talks about the Millennial Kingdom and the blessings for the nation of Israel as happening “soon,” but we are still waiting. From His perspective, the timing is His and His alone to determine and it is compared to eternity not time as we understand and live it.

I firmly believe we are in the end of the end times, leading up to the start of the Tribulation period. I firmly believe the Rapture will occur prior to the start of the Tribulation, but there is no indication in Scripture how long before the Tribulation begins that the Rapture will occur or exactly when the Tribulation will begin (except for the event that kicks it off). So even if the Rapture happens before you finish this article, that does not mean the Tribulation will start soon either.

Having said all that, there is something happening throughout America that I find fascinating and in some sense, it provides a some type of timeline though that timeline is not set in stone and doesn’t necessarily support a starting point for the Tribulation period or other prophetic events. It has to do with the many data centers that are being built throughout America and the world.

For instance, in my state alone, there are 8-9 humungous data centers that are either underway now or will be started very soon. They will take anywhere from 8-13 years to complete, give or take.

So what will these data centers be used for once they are completed and up and running? Clearly, they will be used to usher in societal surveillance, just like what currently exists in China. In essence, the social credit system for America is being built now and there is no stopping it.

These data centers will use tremendous amounts of energy/electricity for the artificial intelligence (AI) computing needed to keep track of everything every person does or says. By the way, this is of course, why “climate change” is being pushed where they want us using far less energy so there is more energy for their AI data centers. They know climate change is a complete hoax, but they have to push it because AI needs tremendous amounts of energy.

My wife and I were talking the other night about when Amazon might be getting involved in building data centers. Well, just yesterday, a friend of mine sent me some information announcing the fact that Amazon data services had just purchased 985.89 acres along the I-75 corridor for $270 million.

So, if these data centers will take up to 13 years or so to be completed (not counting the ones that are still in the planning stages with no purchased land yet), that tells me that even though the official start of the Tribulation may occur prior to that amount of years, they will all be up and running by the time we arrive to the point within the Tribulation where it will be made mandatory that everyone take the mark of the beast or die, as outlined in Revelation 13:15.

And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain.

In essence, without a ton of AI data centers watching and cataloging everything each person says, does or buys, it would be impossible to enforce the mandate of taking the mark of the beast or be slain. Without the data surveillance systems, this would be impossible.

The construction workers who are building these giant centers are getting paid big bucks. In fact, bus drivers are hired to drive them from the parking area to the job site, also receive great wages. Buses operate nearly around the clock, seven days a week. They simply sit there in case a construction worker has to leave early. Even when work is called for the day due to heavy rains/lightning, the workers (and bus drivers) get their full pay as though they worked a complete shift.

Obviously, there is a huge amount of money involved in these data center projects! A friend of mine drives one of the buses and she gets $25/hour. The other day she was sent home three hours early because the construction workers were done early that day due to heavy rain. She still received full pay as though she worked her full six hour shift. What company does this unless there is a ton of money behind it and the project is so important that they do not want anyone being feeling as though they are not being treated fairly?

It is extremely important to whoever is putting up the money to ensure that these projects are completed and even when work is called for the day due to weather, they continue to provide full pay. It makes for very satisfied workers who don’t realize they are actually building their own digital prisons. There is no stopping this at all.

As much as we would like to know exactly when things are going to happen, we cannot know. When Isaiah prophesied regarding the aforementioned “Cyrus,” it was 150 years before that same Cyrus actually came on the historical scene and fulfilled what God foretold (Isaiah 45:1, 4; see also 41:2-25; 42:6; Isaiah 44:28). That whole generation Isaiah had prophesied to died and so had Isaiah before Cyrus appeared. Was God slow in bringing His Words to fruition? No. It was all in His timing.

The fact that God did not tell Isaiah how long it would be before Cyrus came on the scene kept Satan in complete suspense, not to mention devout Jews. Cyrus, when he took the role of king over Persia, reigned between 539—530 BC and what he did fulfilled to a “T” what God had foretold.

I’m as ready to go be with my Lord as the next believer, but it is important that we not only understand the times by the signs that God has given either through prophets or God the Son in Scripture, but it is equally as important to not go beyond what those signs tell us.

It’s funny but I used to think the final world order and mark of the beast would mainly occur in Europe and Asia because I’ve always believed the Antichrist would rise from some place in Europe. In fact, the main kingdoms of the world in Daniel 2 starting with Nebuchadnezzar’s Babylon and leading up to the final global government all arose in one main area of the world then. It was difficult to imagine how a global system could be created that would be able to surveil and track every person on earth. Yet, God says it will be a global system and the final kingdom will be completely different from the previous kingdoms. With the building of the many data centers that are happening throughout the world including the USA, it is obvious that this will truly be a global final one world order and completely different from anything that came before it.

What is also interesting to me is the tech guys we know by name are keenly involved in these things. Household names like Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Sam Altman, etc. are known to us. These guys are designing the system that will be in place to watch every move we make. Some believe they may be the 10 “kings” that the Bible talks about in Revelation 17. I have no clue. They could be, but the “kings” could also be referring to specific globalists or could actually include literal kings (like King Charles).

What is being built throughout the world today will create digital prisons of tomorrow. No one knows exactly when the Tribulation will occur, when the Rapture will take place or, for that matter, when the data centers being built will come online and create the digital web that will be used by the elite to fully control global society, limiting people’s movements, speech and buying power.

Here is my suggestion for what it’s worth. Live your life. Be aware of the possibilities, but also understand that we must continue living life. We must do what we can to fulfill the Great Commission. Jesus told us to watch for His return, but He didn’t mean that we sit there and do nothing else.

I remember the day I married my wife. I had come to the church and while preparing for the upcoming nuptials, I took a gander out one of the windows every once in a while to see if my wife had arrived yet. I didn’t plant myself in a chair and do nothing else because there were things to do. I was simply continually mindful of the fact that I wanted to see my wife coming to the church. I knew she would arrive and my heart leaped a bit when I finally saw her walking into the church.

I think we can be watching, waiting and working in His physical absence, as things move toward the time of His return. Don’t necessarily put things on hold unless directed by the Lord to do so. Continue living. Continue making plans. If the Rapture occurs, clearly your plans will not come to fruition. If the Tribulation starts, you may well have to shift gears (if the Rapture doesn’t occur prior to the Tribulation).

We know the things that are coming at some point because the Bible reveals them to us. However, we do not know when those things will occur. We cannot know because God has not revealed His timing in many instances. All the people who are telling us that such and such will happen sooner than soon are guessing and cannot know for sure. They might be correct, but they may be wrong too.

This all reminds me of the 1970’s when prophecy conferences took center stage, kicked off by Hal Lindsay’s “The Late Great Planet Earth” book. There was tremendous hype, many conferences, tons of books and a good deal of sermons that more than suggested God’s prophetic timetable was about to unfold. It didn’t and the prophecy movement died quietly. Maybe it would not have had the Internet existed then. Nonetheless, it’s here again and my biggest concern is that Christians are so concerned with prophecy that they are forgetting to live while watching for His return.

I’m going to leave you with this short video from Ken Hamm, linked below.[3] He titled it “Many Christians Love Talking About the End Times, But Quietly Ignore This” and I think it applies. Please take the four minutes, thirty-two seconds to watch it because Ken has some very important points to make. He doesn’t minimize prophecy. He puts it in its biblical perspective.

I’m not trying to minimize prophecy either. Anyone who has been following this blog any length of time knows how much I enjoy studying and discussing prophetic events as revealed in Scripture. We need to be watching, waiting and living life as the time of His return approaches.
