Flat earters also say ISS and satellites are fake. But ISS is visible to the naked eye and satellites can be seen too. How can you explain this? To me it’s proof you guys are full of it. I will give you a couple of clues on what to research…
1. The size off ISS
2. The height it ‘orbits’ the Earth.
Then come back a show me how an object not much bigger than a airliner can be seen with the naked eye from 250 miles away
Because unlike airliners, the iss has massive solar panels on it that act like giant mirrors that reflect light! That’s how you can see it with the naked eye.
Sure! Then tell me exactly when and where you are “seeing” the ISS or even a satellite.
In order to see the ISS check on NASA’s website for a
Scheduled time when it flies over your area in the early
evening.
As for seeing satellites, they are very easy to see. I am
really quite shocked that you have never seen one at
your age!
How to see a satellite lesson repeat number 527.
Just after the sun sets , go outside on a non-cloudy
evening. Best to lay down on a surface as to not
strain your neck. Open eye lids. Watch between the
western sky and straight above you. Do not look
eastward. Look toward the halfway point of west
and straight above. Be patient! It may take a while
for one to come over, but sometimes you can see
several per hour if you are patient! After said satellite
gets to the halfway point or just thereabouts, it will
fade out after it’s orbit goes out of the sunlight.
IN other words, when it hits the earth’s shadow,
it will fade out entirely.. I have seen satellites all
my life, and by accident hundreds of times, and
you have never seen one? Do you live in a cave?

Who put that in your head? But I digress. Here is a really
good one for you! Way back in the early 60′s, we were told
by our local news that the Russian’s Sputnik satellite, would
be coming over our area at a certain time in the evening,
and where to watch in the sky for it to come over our
location. Now several things to consider here, first being
that even the US had not launched a satellite as of that
time. (they were too busy blowing up rockets at the time lol).
The second thing to consider is that Sputnik was only
slightly bigger than a basketball! Granted it was probably
only in a 100 mile high orbit, or more, BUT it was still
very small in size. Well this was the dawn of the space
age, and even though it was launched by our arch rival,
Russia, it was still something new and exciting to see that
mankind had never seen before. So as kids, we took
a blanket out onto the front yard out on the farm, and
probably some koolaid and cookies, and we sat down
to watch.. Sure enough, here it came into view! We
all cheered to see the achievement. Mankind had
launched it’s first successful satellite! So point being,
we saw a basketball sized satellite from the ground
reflecting the sun’s light, so why on earth could you
not see something as big as a parking lot come over?

Pictures taken from lunar orbit. Some have 10 meters per pixel. The best have .5 meters per pixel. (Something a foot and a half across is a single dot, with .5 meter resolution –a LEM would look the same as a rock.)
“Tracking” and hearing radio, that was done by sending unmanned craft and relaying radio through them.
Instruments on the moon were placed by unmanned craft.

Dear Anon who thinks you can’t see curvature from a jet, BALONEY!
I used to fly several times a week for my job, and I could see curvature,
and it wasn’t a curved window making it look that way.
When you are flying at altitude, you can only see 239 miles in any
direction. Why would that be? if the earth was flat and you
were at 42,000k feet you should be able to see much further
than 230 miles! Because it is a sphere, it tapers off at a
230 mile distance! This notion that aircraft windows distort
it to look like a sphere is just preposterous at best. I think
that the company that makes the windows delivered a batch
of distorting windows, they would not be in business very long,
and they would be replaced by someone who could make
a true view window. Just because they have oval corners does
not mean they distort things. When you look out of them, at
the concourse, do they make the concourse look bent? NO,
it looks normal! So y’all need to get off that fairy tale lame
crap.. But then again, y’all see everything through distorted
fantasy world eyeballs anyway.
Then I love “go research for yourselves” mantra too.
Get over that please. WE HAVE. We have researched our
entire lives, and the verdict is in. The earth is a sphere,
and anyone that thinks otherwise because they saw it
on youtube, are totally beyond brain dead, and the

I Ditto that Houston Anon. I have spent many hours repairing and replacing aircraft windows and windshields etc. Quite a process that can sometimes take weeks depending on the structural involved. Sorry ! I digressed. Anyway, those windows are specially designed and manufactured to provide the very least amount of distortion possible….that’s partly why they’re so expensive. Window distortion in most aircraft, is just bs.

By the way, it is a well known fact that on the globe earth with a diameter of around 25,000 miles one could not see curvature from the cruising altitude of a commercial flight at the typical 30,000 ft. So if you are seeing curvature it must be the curvature of your warped mind.

Really? Wow! The planet is quite large, and it takes a long distance
away from the horizon to detect it’s curvature.. HOMEWORK
ASSIGNMENT! If you have not done so already, download google
earth onto your device. Here is how you can see how large the planet
really is. After downloading, click on the earth, and that is gonna
allow you to manipulate the globe any way you like. With a mouse,
or whatever you use, zoom in all of the way down to an elevation
of 2000 feet right over the center of Kansas. Now in the upper
right hand corner, you will see a control, that looks like a compass
dial. Use the top arrow on that to reorient your view upwards so you can
see the horizon. Now with your middle mouse dial, start dialing downward
and it will start zooming outward away from the planet. Keep dialing
and dialing and keep your eye on the horizon.. How far away do you
have to be in order to really see the curvature of the horizon? I know
the answer, but it is your homework assignment to find out the
answer to that question! Report back your findings on one of these
posts please. (And just maybe you will learn in the process of this
assignment, how large the earth really is and how far away you have to be
in order to see the curve!)

I found an interesting site, for calculating Ocean Freight
distance and delivery times. I used the Gleason’s Flat
Earth Map as my reference, and since you are an expert,
I aim these questions at you.
First, Basic Understanding. A Flat Earth Map is Distortion Free.
A Flat Earth Map can not be a Projection, as a Map Projection
is made from taking points from the surface of a sphere and
transferring them to a flat plane with distortion held to an
acceptable level. The Gleason Map is officially recognized
as an Azimuthal equidistant North Polar projection, but
Flat Earth Types seem to be happy with it as being free from
distortion. I will use any Flat Earth Map you wish.
First, according to the Ocean Freight Calculator,
From Rio De Janeiro to Luanda Angola is 3,475 miles. (I believe
this is Nautical Miles)
Vaguely plus or minus on a Gleason’s map, the Route is about
8,000 Miles. This is calculated by scaling the distance from
Seattle to New York, and using the distance given by multiple
sources as 2,066 nautical miles as my reference. While making
calculations of this sort are scientifically not acceptable on a map
projection, on a Flat Earth Map, such a calculation should deliver
distances with impeccable precision.
Jango or John, Could you please explain the “Over Optimistic”
Numbers from the Freight Calculator. The Numbers do match
a global map, but this is an unacceptable answer. I am trying to
use my Brain, and the difficulty seems that through working with
industry and engineering, my understanding of your definition of
“Common Sense” has been Permanently Damaged.
Also, by using “Direct Scaling” which is totally acceptable on a
Flat Earth Map, Australia scales out at roughly 2 times the width
(East West) as the United States. At the same time, the distance
with an automobile from Perth to Brisbane is 2,679 Miles, which
seems incredibly optimistic (Once Again Overoptimistic) Please
remember this is not a straight line but on standard roads. As
The Crow Flies would even be More Overoptimistic.
I am sure with your grasp of “Common Sense” and your
well-utilized Brain, You can explain these Discrepancies.
Please Remember, Ocean Freight Companies must turn a Profit,
and must Deliver On Time. Their Overoptimism would be bad for
Business. Also remember that the Odometer should match the
Numbers for traversing Australia. (I had a friend who made the
same journey in 1958 on a Triumph Motorcycle.)

Good question. However you have miscalculated. On a Gleason’s map the distance between those points is about 60 degrees. At 55 miles per degree of longitude this comes to 3300 miles. Since the 60 degree number is approximate, the distance is very close to your figures.

The distances you mentioned are all taken from a flat earth map. Whether you take flight distance, sea distance, or longitude distance, they are all calculated on a flat earth map. Simple reason….we don’t live on a round spinning globe. That is impossible for 200+ reasons. You probably never took the time to look it up. Why do flat Earth advocates always come across as immature children who are foaming at the mouth with rage when they are not agreed with? It seems to be a common theme.
