I didn’t look at the video. But I do read. And we learned something about the radiation belts in 2009, that we didn’t know in Apollo days. From the Van Allen probes.
We learned that the electron belt (s) can increase in energy by a factor of 1,000 in 12 hours. And the size and shape and number of belts change all the time. And it’s not related to solar activity.
No way to know what the intensity will be on launch day, or return day, for travelers to the Moon.
In 2013 we learned from the LRO that the Moon is a much brighter source of gamma radiation than we knew…and a source of sub-atomic particles. From atoms being split by cosmic rays. More of which strike the Moon than we knew. Radiation levels for astronauts on the Moon are “30 to 40% higher than previously estimated.”
