Now look, I’m a ProLife conservative, but I don’t put blind trust in any of these presidents. You don’t get to that level of power without playing the game. That being said, I still pray every night that Trump is truly working for us, and not just playing his role like the rest of the puppet show. But when you really dig into these tariff policies and what they’ve done throughout history, it ain’t looking too good.

Let’s break it down:

The Tariff of Abominations 1828

Passed under President John Quincy Adams, this was designed to protect Northern industry but ended up hurting the Southern economy. It escalated regional tensions and helped fuel the lead-up to the Civil War. This was more about controlling economic power than helping working-class Americans.

The Smoot-Hawley Tariff of 1930

Signed into law by President Herbert Hoover, it raised tariffs on over 20,000 imported goods. What happened next? Global trade collapsed, retaliatory tariffs exploded, and the Great Depression got even worse. Protectionism backfired and crushed small farmers and manufacturers.

Now, 2025

Here we are again, and tariffs are back on the table like it’s some brand-new solution. History has already shown us what happens when we isolate ourselves economically. Will this time be different? Maybe, but if it walks like a ritual and quacks like a ritual, it probably ain’t just about economics.

This is bigger than red vs blue. That whole two-party drama is just another layer of the illusion, divide and conquer 101. The red and blue represent more than politics. So when we see these cycles repeating, whether it’s tariffs, wars, or a pandemic, we have to stop thinking in terms of Left vs Right and start seeing the rituals behind the scenes. Because the real war isn’t red vs blue… It’s you vs the system.
