Senator Josh Hawley just accused Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison of committing perjury under oath during a live Senate hearing on Capitol Hill. A sitting United States Senator laid out evidence that a state attorney general took campaign cash from criminals who stole a quarter billion dollars from a federal program designed to feed children, then used his official position to call off state investigators closing in on the fraud. Nine days after that recorded meeting, Ellison accepted ten thousand dollars in campaign contributions from the very same individuals under active federal investigation for stealing money meant for children.
