Putin's Doomsday Weapon?
President Vladimir Putin’s address to the Federal Assembly on March 1st had the President presenting a plethora of nuclear weapons that he would be developing over the year.
- Russian President Vladimir Putin recently said Russia was developing a nuclear-powered torpedo that could detonate a “massive” nuclear weapon.
- Such a device might create a 300-foot tsunami if exploded in the right location and could rain long-lasting radioactive fallout on a coastal target.
- Experts have described the hypothetical weapon as a “doomsday” device, saying it could spread unprecedented and long-lived radioactive fallout.
- But one researcher said such a weapon would be “stupid,” as it’d greatly limit its damage compared with an airburst.
Why am I mentioning this? The recent attack from the US on Syria has sparked some tensions between Russia and the US which has a chance of triggering a response from Russia. The Imperial Regent explained it as follows:
Hypothetical Question: Knowing how hard it would be to nuke the United States because of its defense systems, if you were Russia, how could you take out New York (Financial), along with US nuclear allies Great Britain and France, without receiving a nuclear retaliation coming back against you?
Answer: You would trigger the Canary Islands tsunami to take out the American east coast, and slam your European enemies at the same time.
