Colonel Douglas Macgregor the World Backs Iran in This War (Video)

In this 9 June 2026 published video, host Daniel Davis talks with Colonel Douglas Macgregor who  argues that the global community and major world powers largely back Iran in its current regional conflict against the United States and Israel. He posits that a full-scale military campaign to achieve rapid regime change in Tehran is impossible, warning that the war is instead devastating Western influence, fracturing regional alliances, and threatening the global economic order.

Macgregor emphasizes that Iran is not fighting in isolation, noting that its military defenses are heavily fortified by critical technological and intelligence support from Russia and China. Russia has provided advanced radar technology and electronic warfare capabilities. Russian satellites also deliver instant imagery and targeting data directly to Iranian tactical ballistic missile units. China has supplied highly advanced cruise and ballistic missiles. This includes near-hypersonic cruise missiles deployed in underground coastal caverns designed specifically to target and sink American capital ships.  Macgregor states that Chinese and Russian technicians are physically embedded alongside Iranian personnel to help operate these sophisticated weapon systems.

Beyond direct military assistance, Macgregor notes that global economic survival forces much of the international community to align against a U.S.-led blockade or war effort. Major global consumers, particularly China, view any attempt by the U.S. to enforce a blockade in the Strait of Hormuz as a direct provocation to their own economic security. China and Russia are actively working in tandem through diplomatic channels to neutralize such blockades. Macgregor points out that the initial days of the conflict immediately regionalized the war, driving European oil markets up by 20% and threatening to push oil past $100 a barrel. Iranian asymmetrical strikes utilizing inexpensive drones have paralyzed major infrastructure and airports across the Persian Gulf (such as in Dubai). This has frozen operations for multi-national conglomerates, trapping millions of international workers—including massive populations of Indian business owners and Western expatriates—further turning global sentiment against the war.

Macgregor characterizes Iran as a militarily unbreakable 21st-century fortress. He asserts that over 90% of Iran’s missile, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), and intelligence-strike capabilities remain entirely intact despite Western operations. Because its strategic assets are buried deep inside mountainous underground facilities, Macgregor maintains that traditional World War II-style naval fleets and air power are incapable of achieving a decisive victory, resulting instead in a prolonged regional catastrophe.
