Taking A Stand Against Tyranny – R.I. Town Officially Becomes A 2nd Amendment Sanctuary For Gun Owners

Wednesday April 24th, 2019 Town Councilmen officially declared that their town of Burrillville, Rhode Island to be a  Second Amendment sanctuary for gun owners standing against any gun control law that they deem Anti-Constitutional.  

For years, Rhode Island Progressive Governor Gina Raimondo, who also is a member of the globalist group of the Council on Foreign Relations, has been seeking to push draconian gun control measures in the state of Rhode Island that would ban high capacity magazines, semi-automatic weapons, “military style” assault weapons and deny any law abiding citizen with a concealed firearms permit to not be within 300 feet within school grounds.

Mind you that Rhode Island is ranked #2 in the country for least amount of homicides by a firearm and no Rhode Island citizen with a concealed firearm permit has ever in R.I.’s history committed a mass shooting or violent crime with a firearm.

The Rhode Island State Police and local law enforcement are some of the best in the country and do an outstanding job preventing and stopping gun related crimes. We in the 2nd Amendment community highly respect our law enforcement and the law. For some reason other than safety, the Governor wants to impose gun laws that will endanger not only us law abiding citizens but the police as well.

The Governor, with her Bloomberg sponsored groups Moms Demand Action and Gun Sense RI, every year lobby for gun control measures and have failed miserably due to the overwhelmingly opposition of thousands of Rhode Islanders storming the State House rallying and testifying against gun control. Moms Demand Action bus supporters in from other states and still fall short standing hundreds of gun rights supporters to their one gun control supporter.  

Rhode Islander’s have had enough of the tyranny.  The town of Burrillville has become the first town in the country to become a 2nd Amendment sanctuary and within days has gained huge support from neighboring towns and cities alike.  Soon after Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo in an interview with WPRO News Talk RI Gene Valicenti on Monday responded saying “If new gun laws pass, she expects Burrillville to follow them. If they disagree with them, they should lobby at the state house – but to secede from Rhode Island and our laws is not an appropriate response”.

This is coming from a Governor and the Mayor of Rhode Island’s capital city Providence, Jorge Elorza who openly defied federal laws declaring Providence, RI a sanctuary city for illegal immigrants and giving them state drivers licenses. Talk about a double standard with these Progressives. They frown upon a town that is standing up and defending the Constituiton but yet openly violate federal laws for illegals.

Several towns are now considering adopting Burrillville’s 2nd Amendment sanctuary resolution such as Glocester, Hopkinton, Foster and West Greenwich with hearings and rallies for this proposal within the course of the coming months. Talks of Coventry, Rhode Island’s 2nd largest city thinking of adopting the same resolution.  

 We The People of R.I. for 2A Sanctuary calling for 2nd Amendment supporters to join them on the following dates and town hall meetings to make the following towns a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary. 

-May 6th @7pm Hopkinton Town Hall 

-May 8th @7pm West Greenwhich Town Hall 

-May 9th @7pm Foster – Paine Elementary School 

-May 16th @7:30pm – Glocester Town Hall

The Second Amendment community of Rhode Island consists of citizens of all parties and groups such as Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Libertarians and even LGBT and women’s rights advocates. The 2nd Amendment community is led by The Rhode Island 2nd Amendment Coaltion in alliance with dozens other gun rights groups, gun clubs, gun stores, shooting clubs and gun owners. For a small state Rhode Island is chuck full of gun club shooting ranges, gun stores, gun owners and 2nd Amendment supporting citizens who don’t even own a gun. 

We The People of R.I. for 2A Sanctuary told me that their goal is to spread this resolution throughout the state and throughout the nation in hopes that towns and cities across the nation will join this fight to stand for and protect the very right that keeps this nation free. 

Their mission statement  to defend, protect, and preserve our Constitutional rights and hopes to educate the community on the importantance of gun safety and our Constitutional heritage.
