More than ever, the world is becoming a smaller place to live. Global travel is more common in this century than ever before. We are able to get from one country to another in a matter of hours instead of days. Crossing these borders opens up a lot of opportunities to experience new cultures, sights, and people. Though with ease of movement, you still need to be cognitive that cultures and rules are different from country to country. Before you venture across the ocean, sea, or large chunk of land, check on some of the country-specific regulations. Below, are a few such tips that are related to the travel gadgets that would keep out of jail or at least on the right side of the law.

Walkie-talkies
In Cuba and some other countries, such communication devices are simply not allowed and will be confiscated, along with any kind of handheld GPS device.

Drones
Also, Drones are on a list of what not to bring to Cuba. While the drone is remarkable in allowing you to capture a bird’s eye view of wherever you are traveling, they are likely to be confiscated upon arrival. The main reason is that these flying cameras can be used to take photographs of sensitive areas in Cuba, such as military installations.

In countries such as Romania, Russia, Spain, Ukraine, and Hungary, photographing airports or important military and government buildings could also get you into trouble. You can get fined or even taken in for questioning when you take these type of shots.

Fireworks

The following items are completely banned from any part of a plane for any flight, and should not be brought to the airport:

• Explosive and incendiary materials
• Flammable items
• Gasses and pressure containers
• Matches
• Oxidizers and organic peroxides
• Poisons
• Infectious materials
• Corrosives
• Organics
• Radioactive materials
• Magnetic materials
• Marijuana (cannabis)

*Note* Despite the fact that cannabis (marijuana) is legal and regulated in some countries, it remains illegal to take cannabis across some national borders, whether you are entering or leaving the country.

*Breaking Travel News* The TSA is now allowing passengers to take some types of CBD oil – which is the non-psychoactive marijuana component – on planes, as well as an FDA-approved marijuana-based drug. The agency changed its policy over the Memorial Day weekend. The CBD oils allowed can’t have THC; that remains illegal under federal law.

Weapons
This one is pretty self-explanatory. In just about any airport in any country, you will have a lot of issues if you plan to bring a weapon on a plane or into the country.

Drugs
As seen above there are some drugs that are not even allowed on the plane. There are a lot of drugs that are also banned from being carried into countries. The type of drugs that are banned or illegal varies from country to country. Though any drug that is considered illegal in your country will also be likely unacceptable in the country you are visiting.

Anti-government propaganda
In several countries, such as North Korea, China, and Vietnam, the regime is very strict with anyone that is critical of the ruling party. So any material that depicts the sovereign in a negative light could be banned and considered illegal to possess.

Pornography
Unlike Western countries where porn might be frowned up, in several countries this type of material is illegal. For instance, sale or possession of any pornographic material is strictly prohibited and illegal in Vietnam.
