iWalk Experiment A Dismal Failure

I can now say that the iWalk (peg leg walking implement for broken lower legs and feet) thing will NOT work for me. I’m bummed because I really hoped it would be a way to get around besides my wheelchair.

Firstly, my balance isn’t that great.
Secondly, my strength isn’t good, either.

I could only use it with 2 crutches, and I could never get any better. I was on the brink of falling pretty much every second, no matter how much I practiced.

But thirdly, and finally– my foot break is on TOP of my foot and when my foot is put in anything where weight pushes against it, it causes pain that lingers for hours afterwards. Sadly, this means I can’t use the scooter-thing either (but the balance issue makes falls on THAT too likely as well, so…)

To say I’m disappointed would be an understatement!

On the other hand, that part of me that’s been dealing with chronic health issues my whole life has a “that just fucking figures” attitude, you know? I mean, I’m VERY patient, and I’m chomping at the bit to walk again– I can only imagine what this must be like for most people!
