This Week’s “Boardroom” Topic

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

I’m not traditional by any sense of the word. Radically authentic is more like it. Often times I spent more time with my nose against the wall or in the hallway for questioning. Perhaps questions even the teacher(s) didn’t know how to respond to. So their reaction, get rid of the problem.

Now I don’t consider questioning to be the problem, but a means to a solution. Most poignantly for ourselves.

Inquiry, or self-inquiry, as I’ve probably mentioned over and over again, is my religion. A means to understanding myself and the world around me. And so I put everything to the board room table that is my life (a technique I learned from my psychotherapist).

I’m the president (obviously lol) and whatever it is that I am processing I invite to the table for a cup of tea (an endearing term my dear friend Deb Shapiro uses), and then proceed to ask away…

“What is it you have to bring to the table?”

I take it all in.

Sit with it. (Be still and know)

And then feel with the entirety of my being (body, mind, spirit), what within it is true for me.

And act with conviction.

This week’s board room topic:

Getting the word out (marketing) my upcoming (first) book;

Your Vivid Life, An Invitation to Live a Radically Authentic Life

Consider I come from a twenty year background in marketing (conditioning) but left that to pursue what was radically authentic.

That world (for me at least) was too contrived, made everything look perfect…

And we all know, differently.

Life is messy and lovely all at the same time.

Perfectly imperfect (for some reason I’m writing this in a Scottish accent)

The challenge: we’re conditioned to think, pay attention to, and act as if it is/we are (perfect).

And deep breathe…

Back to the board room table.

Sit with it (Be still and know)

Breaking through conditioning to be our radically authentic self’s is challenging. We’ve been conditioned individually and collectively our entire lives. And so, to step out from the crowd (break through the resistance), on a path of our own, promises, to perhaps be lonely and challenging.

But without going it alone, without challenge, how do we grow?

And most importantly how do we know our own voice, when amongst the crowd mentality (conditioning) all we can hear is; this way, no this way.

And another deep breathe…

The conditioned life seems at first, easier, less conflictual individually and collectively. But the more unquestioned the more we step into an almost robot like state. Never truly tapping into the genius that lives within.

“Dying with our music still in us” as Dr. Wayne Dyer once said.

And I most certainly do not want to die with my music still in me.

I want to sing it out, in the shower, on my walk, and to each one of you.

So that perhaps I remind you that you too have it within you.

So how am I going to get the word out (sing out) my book?

Well, exactly the way it is written.

Radically Authentic.
