Florence Looting Gone Wild, NC Aftermath, Where Have All the Americans Gone (Video)

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

WILMINGTON, NC – A local TV reporter confronted looters in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence. People were breaking into a closed Family Dollar store Saturday. WECT reporter Chelsea Donovan saw people wearing masks and carrying out items. They scattered when she pointed her camera at them.

“Sir, you know you’re looting, correct?” Donovan states while catching up with suspects who have stolen items in their arms.

Wilmington police say they were told by the Family Dollar store’s management to stand down after receiving reports of looting. Police are now asking the public to help identify the suspects. There have been some arrests. via Foxnews

For days, residents had been told to heed the warnings. Hurricane Florence, at its peak a Category 5, would be the “storm of a lifetime” for portions of the Carolina coast,” the National Weather Service said. It would bring powerful wind, relentless rain and life-threatening storm surge to an area that wasn’t used to hurricanes.

More than 1 million people were under mandatory evacuation orders as the storm crawled toward the East Coast.

It would soon become clear why residents had been told to leave.

From the comments..

Marko Stathis All Looters should be shot and killed on sight with no warning, no questions, and no investigation, PERIOD! These animals take advantage of others’ misfortune for their own wants, not needs. Taking food and drink days after having nothing is one thing, stealing Cell Phones, DVDs, and other electronics is a different matter completely.

Kes I’m ashamed citizens in my state are doing this, it would be different if they were taking what they needed because they had 8ft of water in their community and been out of power for weeks. This is just not even comparable to the magnitude of a storm that would defend that sort of behavior. The storm hit there less than 24hrs ago, nobody is starving yet and the power was cut Friday around noon or a bit before at the earliest and those people should be ashamed of themselves. Next week when they are still dragging this out and all the water comes back down through NC that has been dumped in central and western NC then I hope those idiots can eat those razors, hair products, and commodities they stole because we all know most of the food in that DG (besides can goodsnon perishable that were more than likely bought out before storm) is ruined from power outage so they weren’t there for food. Karma will bite them in the ass for that, watch and see. It’s different if you’ve been sheltering for a week or more with no signs of improvement and are hungry and raid the local grocery (like in a Katrina event or SHTF scenario) for survival. Less than 24hrs after storm hits us and is still ripping through the state, and people are acting as if they are wild animals with no raising or morals……very very sad but can’t say I’m one but surprised.

The Looting continues

Fox News crew witnessed the alleged looting of a Dollar Store in Wilmington, North Carolina, Rick Leventhal reports.

We have Family Dollars in PA, no electronics, nothing you would want to take home. Is that Project homes in the background? Says the grocery shelves are empty. How long were they empty before the storm hit? I agree, most of them are stealing goods other than food. I did see a woman with what appeared to be 3 jugs of juice, another carrying a 4 pack of some type of drink.

Projects get help from the tax payer. If it is projects in the background the people in there should be in better shape than the poor that did not manage to get in. Observations?

Idiot article written by some smug shit who should be placed in a similar situation. You have absolutely no idea what these people are taking and remember that for many of these people, their power was shut off earlier in the week when the storm was still far out to sea. You don’t find TVS, cars and stereos at Family Dolllar. It is mostly household supplies.
So come on down, asswipe. Run your mouth in front of this crowd instead of from your dry, cool living room.

Let me explain a little better. These people have nothing to start with and at least a week before the storms came, the lying media panics half the city into emptying the store shelves when the storm is still off the coast of Africa.
Nine times out of ten, it is a false alarm and people have wasted a lot of money. The folks you see looting, are some desperate people who have heard lying media cry wolf again and again so when a real storm comes, many are not prepared, yet they lose power way before the first raindrop. This is done in modern times to prevent transformer loss. This storm appeared to be another hoax because the pressure never went down anywhere near hurricane levels.
Yes, there are pathetic thieves that will take advantage, just like there are pathetic wannabe journalists who take advantage of other people’s misery. There many others that will do whatever it takes to keep their families alive and comfortable.
Until you have walked in their shoes and spent a week being gouged for water, ice that melts quickly, food, no gas at all, and no sleep because of the stifling heat, you should just shut the Hell up. Calling for them to be killed without question, makes the accusers look like heartless, thoughtless pigs, no better and possibly worse than whom you are condemning.
Did you even know that Family Dollar management had told the police to stand down because they could see the desperation of humanity?
This comes from someone who has lived in Wilmington since 1975 and has witnessed this charade too many times and has been without power for more than a week way too often.
