Effing with the Fed is kicking a hornets nest with major international ramifications. I’m all for it, but it will come at great cost. You have to envision economic collapse unlike anything this generation has witnessed. Are you, or any of your loved ones on SS or medicaid? Do you or your loved ones have a monetary nest egg stashed away? Kiss it goodbye when the Fed collapses or is abolished. Any govt holding treasuries will want America’s scalp.
For the sake of living standards, now is not quite the time to abolish. Kill the fed at the proper time when the next economic collapse occurs, or do it as a strategy to win a major war. The ability to end the fed is great leverage at great cost. Use it tactfully and wisely. Use it in answer to war, but try not to create war through its abolition.
Totally agree. It would be nearly impossible to unwind all of the derivatives on top of derivatives without causing a global catastrophe. I hope the Fed is abolished in my lifetime, but, at 62, I’m not optimistic.
