New Midway Building Breaking Ground in January

SHERMAN, Texas (MMD Newswire) January 7, 2016 — The Sherman Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) and Mid-way Warehouses, LLC are proud to announce a new 60,000 square foot commercial warehouse will soon break ground, having received approval from the city council.

The new building is a response to the rapid commercial growth of the Texoma region, which is conveniently located half an hour from key population centers in North Texas and Southern Ok-lahoma, including the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex.

“As Sherman continues to grow, there is a need for new commercial warehouse space,” said Willie Steele, chairman of the board for SEDCO.

“This building will offer us new opportunities to recruit companies who have an immediate need for manufacturing, distribution, or flex space,” stated John Plotnik, president of SEDCO.

Midway Industrial Park acquires its name from a convenient location midway between Sherman and Denison, the principal cities in the two-state Texoma region. The sprawling 300-acre com-plex is currently home to the United Parcel Service (UPS), Federal Express (FedEx), PepsiCo, Frito Lay, Eaton, and many other corporations. 180 acres remain available for development, of-fering tenants existing warehouse space or the option to build to suit with numerous pad site sizes and configurations.

“This new building will expand our existing master-planned industrial park, allowing for contin-ued growth,” said Oliver McElory, managing partner of Midway.

Midway’s new building will have 30-foot eve heights to allow for multiple uses. The developer will have the option to sub-divide the building to allow for office space or additional tenants if the entire space is not utilized. Power, water, and sewer facilities will be easily accessible, as well as room for future expansion should a larger facility be needed. Major highways leading to Dallas / Fort Worth, East Texas, West Texas, and Oklahoma are within ten minutes, making the warehouse/manufacturing space perfect for immediate access to DFW.
