New Orleans Comes to Pioneer Square

Seattle is known as the multicultural center of the Pacific Northwest. Kicked off by owners Anthony and Marcela, this event will feature authentic New Orleans cuisine, including crawfish, gumbo, and jambalaya, just to name a few, as well as live music. Owners Anthony and Marcela are from Louisiana and have operated Marcela’s since 2008, their authentic Cajun dishes have put them on the map as one of Seattle’s finest locally owned restaurants. They have received four star reviews from several local publications in the Seattle area, as well as recognition from The Food Network Magazine.

On Tuesday, February 17th, 2015 Marcela’s Creole Cookery is hosting an event to celebrate Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras or “Fat Tuesday” in English, refers to events of the Carnival celebrations, beginning on or after the Epiphany or King’s Day and culminating on the day before Ash Wednesday. Mardi Gras is French for “Fat Tuesday,” reflecting the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season.

The event will be held at Marcela’s Creole Cookery, at 106 James Street, Seattle, WA in Pioneer Square on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, from 12 noon on. Live Music will be from 1 pm to 3 pm and again at 6 pm to 9:30 pm.
