Scottish actor, teacher and founder of Stagecoach theatre launches StageTime Studios

The twin cities newest children’s theatre school

Minneapolis / St. Paul, MN (MMD Newswire) October 23, 2014 –- Seventeen years after founding Stagecoach Theatre Arts, Simon McAllister, has launched the Twin Cities newest children’s theatre school, StageTime Studios.

“It was time,” said McAllister, the school’s Director. “Stagecoach is a British company and simply didn’t provide the necessary support. For me, the most important thing is the kids. I want to make sure I’m providing the best musical theatre training I can and I couldn’t do that as Stagecoach.”

The new theatre school, which holds classes at Concordia University, St. Paul is based on many of the same principles McAllister used when he launched Stagecoach. “I have always believed that acting, singing and dancing complement each other perfectly,” McAllister added. “It’s the mind, body, voice workout that benefits every child.”

McAllister, who currently teaches music, theatre and media arts at Groves Academy in St. Louis Park, credits his wife, also a theatre teacher, with urging him to launch StageTime Studios. “I’m very lucky,” says McAllister, “Every day, through my family and my school I get to see first-hand what a powerful influence theatre has.”
