A volunteer firefighter was arrested in connection with starting a wildfire last summer that burned several hundred acres in Elbert County, Colorado.

Authorities arrested Alex J. Averett, 19, a volunteer firefighter from the Elbert Fire Protection District, after an extensive investigation, according to the local CBS affiliate (http://cbsloc.al/11VQ8FL).

The County Road 102 Fire started on June 24 and was active for 18 days and required the resources of more than 100 fire and law enforcement personnel from multiiple agencies
