DEFENDING CAIN: Pope Francis Changes Official Catholic Church Catechism Teaching On Death Penalty

The Vatican announced on Thursday Pope Francis approved changes to the compendium of Catholic teaching published under Pope John Paul II.

One of the many lies put forth by the Catholic Church is that they “never change” their doctrines and teachings. But in reality, they change quite often. Such is the case with today’s announcement that the Catholic Church, reversing centuries old doctrine, now says that the death penalty is ‘inadmissible’ in all circumstances and cases. And as usual, this is in flagrant disregard of clear Bible teaching in both Testaments.

“For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.” Romans 13:4 (KJV)

FROM THE CATHOLIC CRUX: According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, the death penalty now is no longer admissible under any circumstances. The Vatican announced on Thursday Pope Francis approved changes to the compendium of Catholic teaching published under Pope John Paul II.

“The death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person,” is what the Catechism of the Catholic Church now says on the death penalty, adding that the Church “works with determination for its abolition worldwide.”

This is a departure from what the document, approved under Pope John Paul II in 1992, says on the matter: “Assuming that the guilty party’s identity and responsibility have been fully determined, the traditional teaching of the Church does not exclude recourse to the death penalty, if this is the only possible way of effectively defending human lives against the unjust aggressor.” READ MORE

As the Catholic Church under Pope Francis becomes more and more Liberal, the split within their church grows ever wider. Many Vatican watchers says this in being done in anticipation of allowing the LGBTQ to officially be welcomed within their ranks.

Whatever the case, the raging turmoil engulfing the Catholic Church swirls ever closer to the breaking point. For a church that ‘never changes’, the changes are coming almost to fast to count. Now about those sex scandals…
