‘Remain ALERT’ US Navy chiefs in WW3 warning as Iran prepares next move

US Navy bosses have warned the world is entering a “period of uncertainty” as Tehran prepares its next move after President Donald Trump ditched the Iran nuclear deal.

Admiral John Richardson, the US Navy’s chief of naval operations, said Trump’s decision had opened a worrying phase between the two arch enemies.

The president pulled the US out of the controversial 2015 deal that aimed to curb Iran’s ambitions towards building nukes.

Adm. Richardson said rather than making the oil and natural gas-rich Persian Gulf, the world was now entering an uncertain period.

He added: “It is a period of uncertainty that we are entering into, right – how the whole world will respond to this latest development.”

The navy veteran continued and said the world’s most powerful naval force had to be ready to respond to any “new development”.

Adm. Richardson said: Remain alert, I mean, even a little bit more alert than usual, to just be open to any kind of response or new development or something like that.”

The US Navy’s main base is on the tiny island of Bahrain, which lies on the opposite side of the Persian Gulf from Iran.

Washington officials have kept a heavy presence in the region since the last Shah (king) of Iran was overthrown by Islamic fundamentalists in 1979.

Tensions between the US and Iran have remained strained since the Washington-backed leader was expelled from Tehran, with previous presidents calling the nation’s Mullah’s “funders of terrorism”.

Iran has backed US enemies and rivals in the region and had attempted to build nuclear warheads to threaten them.

With the 2015 deal now in the balance Iran could begin developing nukes – putting the region on the path to WW3.
