Gaspocalypse! Refineries Shutting Down, Pipeline Ruptures, Infrastructure Crumbling

Please read the following carefully to understand why refineries are closing and pipelines are rupturing, and then I will post links to the 3 major refineries in the US shutting down fuel production and the ongoing pipeline rupture in the SE US.

 

Refining gasoline is a delicate process, using heat on a volatile substance to seperate it. Recently, fracked crude has put extra stress on systems, because the fracked crude contains large amounts of unknown before bacteria that was recently named Frackibacter, or as I like to call it, Frackteria.

Researchers have discovered an unknown species of bacteria living in shale oil and gas wells used for fracking, which they’ve named frackibacter.

The genomes of species living in two separate fracturing wells in Ohio were analysed, and despite the fact that they are hundreds of kilometres apart, the two bacterial communities were surprisingly similar.

A total of 31 different type of bacterial genome were found at the two sites, including Candidatus frackibacter.

“We thought we might get some of the same types of bacteria, but the level of similarity was so high it was striking,” said one of the researchers, Kelly Wrighton, from Ohio State University.

“That suggests that whatever’s happening in the se ecosystems is more influenced by the fracturing than the inherent differences in the shale.”

Bacteria is injected into the well, and the well is capped off. The growth of the bacteria because of feedstock pressurized the well to the point of fracturing, and then the well is uncapped and the pressurized water/bacteria/crude is fed through very small pourous filters, and the water is dumped into flowback ponds, where biocides are added. Problem is, not all of the bacteria is removed from the crude, and it continues to grow through transport all the way into the refinery, where it now has produced excess Hydrogen Sulfide, the #1 enemy of the refinery process. I’ll have you know, the excess sulfur being produced is being put into fertilizer and that corn is fed to pigs which is being fed to you and I. 

“R. SMITH: Fertilizer that gets used on the cornfields right around McPherson. And that corn gets fed to pigs. Pigs make ham.

S. SMITH: So if we go eat a sandwich in town, we could be eating our oil.

So, I’ve given a primer into the problem with fracked crude. There is much more info out there by searching bacteria H2S in fracked crude, MEOR (Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery) and the sythetic bacteria created by Craig Venter who was funded by EXXON and BP while at Berkeley U’s invasive species academics. 

Venters bacteria dubbed Synthia was used in the 2010 BP blowout in the Gulf, and they couldn’t contain it. Research, you will find Berkeley scientists working with Venter responding to the oil spill as experts. Also, the lie that bacteria cleaned up the oil is just that, a lie, and this year cyanobacterial outbreaks in the Gulf were the worst ever, with Floriday being hit the hardest. 

OK, so I just found out Port Arthur TX refinery has essentially closed down because of their main coker unit is “under repair” as of yesterday. This refinery actually feed the Colonial Pipeline, so I’m wondering if the pipeline leak wasn’t an excuse to cover for the major issue at Port Arthur TX…

Valero Energy Corp shut the large crude distillation unit and a coking unit on Monday night at the 335,000-barrel-per-day Port Arthur, Texas, refinery as part of an ongoing plant-wide overhaul, said sources familiar with plant operations.

The 268,000-bpd AVU-146 CDU is scheduled to be shut for four weeks, while the 100,000-bpd coker is scheduled to be shut until late October, the sources said”

Also, BP refinery in Whiting Indiana has shut down for repairs.

WHITING -

Two major units of the BP Whiting Refinery have been shut down for scheduled maintenance work. Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report production will be reduced for more than a week as a result.

The shutdown includes the refinery’s 290,000 barrel-per-day Crude Distillation Unit Pipestill 12 and a 110,000 barrel-per-day gasoline producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit, according to Reuters.

These two alone count for 768,000 bbl a day of gasoline/fuel product for WEEKS! And to top it off, Torence Refinery in CA is shut down for the unknown future. 

The Los Angeles Times says the outage was enough to cut production temporarily at the Torrance refinery, which PBF Energy bought from Exxon Mobil in July. PBF says it could take days to return the plant to full service.
