William Pierce, wrote the controversial, and hence, quite popular book called the Turner Diaries.
The Turner Diaries was published in 1978. Pierce wrote under a pseudoname Andrew MacDonald.

Notable sequence: Turner’s guerrilla unit detonates a homemade bomb at FBI headquarters, killing hundreds – a passage that came to be seen as foreshadowing, and as an inspiration to, Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh.

Apparently, Pierce died of “renal failure” shortly after giving the following interview, where he called the anthrax investigation a Jewish hoax, among other things. He goes into detail.
