When Truth Ain’t Truth

Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice. Pilate saith unto him, What is truth?

I hate to be the first person to tell you this, but all lawyers are liars. I don’t mean that in an inflammatory way. Lawyers are paid to lie. The bigger the lawyer, the bigger the lie. The legendary OJ trial being a perfect example. Everyone knew OJ did it. Children raised by wolves knew he did it. The WOLVES knew it. So why did he walk? “If it doesn’t fit you must acquit!” What Johnny Cochran was telling the jury was following the logic that if you accept this demonstration of the fitting of a sports glove then it only goes to follow that my client couldn’t have done this because you have already admitted that this wasn’t his glove. Well, it WAS his glove and that whole summation was a lie.

Giuliani went on “Meet the Press” yesterday and said, “Truth is not truth!” First off, what the hell was he doing on “Meet the Press” anyway, and why did he believe the liberal viewing audience could fathom a legal concept of truth?

Truth is whatever you conceive it to be at the time. Giuliani was voicing his concern that if President Trump were to meet with Mueller that he’d lose his temper, go all motor mouth, and paint himself into a corner. Lawyer’s first advice to a client. Don’t talk to the police!

Mueller isn’t concerned with the truth either. He’s worried about doing to bidding of his democratic masters. He is the Great White Hope of the impeachment caucus. That’s all this is about, folks. Whatever would come out of Trump’s mouth would be homogenized by Mueller and his team to fit his Russian Collusion agenda, thereby proving the “Truth” that Putin won the election by placing a few Facebook ads.

Pilate and Giuliani were uttering a reflective question. Jesus, taking the high ground, talking about truth, and Pilate, cursed to oversee a bunch of religious nuts in the desert, knowing that “The Truth” was whatever Caesar said it was. What Giuliani was trying to say was if Trump were naïve enough to try to play ball on Mueller’s court the truth would be whatever the special counsel says it is!

This dog and pony show has gone on just about long enough. It’s become like a Jimmy Fallon monologue. Long, boring, and overrated. Wanna know some truth. The day Robert Mueller discovers that his key no longer fits the office door, his stuff is in a cardboard box in the hall, and Stormy Daniels tells him that his check bounced. That’ll be the truth!
