UFO humanoids and belts

In scouring UFO accounts, in the Rosales’ books and elsewhere, I’m struck by how many witnesses report the “entities” they see as sporting (wearing) a belt, many with buckles or adornments that are able to do things: open/close UFO hatches, paralyze witnesses, translate speech, produce imagery, et cetera.

If witnesses are hallucinating, or actually seeing a humanoid before them (or in proximity), or are subject to Jose Caravaca’s creative “external agent,” why are the entities often seen wearing belts, usually wide and black?

What would be the mental mechanism that provokes such a remembrance or observation?

In mythology, only the Norse god Thor is represented or recounted wearing a belt:

No other mythical character or religious entity is noted for wearing a belt, although a belt-like appendage is sometimes afforded mythological women and described as a “girdle” – not the girdle of the more modern eras however.

Again, why would advanced species visiting the Earth be wearing a belt, such as humans wear?

They’re not holding up pants it seems, but the belts do seem to have a human-like utility purpose, something like that which an electric linesman would wear.

It, to me, seems to be an odd recollection or observation by witnesses.
