Questions. Could the planetary object you are seeing actually be beaming energy at the Earth rather than just “reflecting” light? The pixelared image looks more like an energy beam to my untrained eye. It seems to reflect or beam light/ energy from the dark side of the planet when opposite the sun. Is this true. Could it be beaming the radiation that is opposing and disrupting the solar wind as you show it in other graphic images? Don’t know…just asking..
I see what you’re saying, but I think it Looks like a Beam due to it’s fairly close proximity to the Weather Satellite Arrays & Being that it is so Close to the Southern Pole – I think that the “In Heliosynchronous Orbit of 700-800 km” Sun Simulator’s Light is reflecting off of this Planet – Especially due to the Sun Simulators (more focused than the real Sun) LED White Light Characteristic – The reflected Light looks White to me and not the normal Mellow Yellow of our Sun – Are you old enough to remember when our Sun wasn’t this White Hot Blowtorch of a Sun?

What you’re seeing is real enough. It also shows up on multiple days on RAMMB/CIRA SLIDER (check the 13th for example). Go to http://www.antarctica.gov.au/webcams/davis and you’ll actually see it reflecting off the water as it passes by. Load the open source application Stellarium or use your favorite astronomy software, set the location to Antarctica (North Pole Station for example) and zoom out to see the whole sky in a “fish eye” view. Set the date time to match RAMMB/CIRA SLIDER and you’ll see it’s the moon passing by. No big mystery…
