Key Insight into the Deception That’s Coming: When Evil Looks Like God (KJV Truth)
Posted July 18, 2025 | End Times Watch | River Wilde
The Bible is clear: in the final days before the return of Jesus Christ, deception will sweep across the earth like never before. But here’s the terrifying part…
It won’t look evil.
It will look like light.
Like truth.
Like God.
Jesus Himself warned us in Matthew 24:24 (KJV):
“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
Think about that. The deception will be so persuasive—so spiritual-looking—that even faithful believers could be seduced if not firmly grounded in the truth of God’s Word. So how will this be possible? Most of us feel that we have a pretty good handle when it comes to deception. We have spent a lifetime being bombarded by people trying to scam us out of our money… right?
It is interesting to note here that many of these scams that are happening today are successful, and some people fall for what you and me might see as obvious scams. So, what’s coming that would even catch the “righteous” people off guard? How would satan deceive “good church goers”?
The Deception Will Wear a Mask of Light
2 Corinthians 11:14 says:
“And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”
This is Satan’s ultimate strategy: to look holy, to speak peace, to unite the world under the banner of love, miracles, and religion. But behind the mask… is death.
In the last days, the Antichrist will rise not as a monster, but as a savior. Oh, that’s interesting!! He will come offering solutions, hope, and peace in a chaotic world. He will likely speak of “god,” do miracles, and call for unity across all faiths. People will say:
“This is the one we’ve been waiting for.”
“He’s so loving and powerful.”
“He’s bringing peace and miracles.”
But they won’t realize—they’re worshiping a counterfeit.
As we saw with people, who were so ready and hungry for someone to come and save the world, with the incredible support of President Trump…That hunger and desire still remains with most of us today. Trump’s support is declining, and people are again looking for someone to take charge. (We are waiting for the Savior, not any man).
The world is in such a mess that something needs to be done to fix it. The stage is set to introduce someone who will come and create the illusion that he is the one that we have all be waiting for. A “Perfect” leader. One who speaks for all people. One who appears to be resolving all of our concerns.
A Form of Godliness… But Not of God
In addition to the Antichrist, Paul warned in 2 Timothy 3:5 that the last days would be filled with people:
“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
This is not secular atheism. This is religious deception.
A false gospel of unity, tolerance, good works, and peace—without repentance, without the cross, and without the true Jesus Christ.
And in Galatians 1:8, Paul said:
“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel… let him be accursed.”
I found this to be true regarding my own church that I had belonged to my entire life. Certainly, a form of Godliness, but preaching satan’s greatest lie…”We are saved by grace, but only after doing all that we can do ourselves.” Our salvation requires us to be the best that we can be, earning our way to different levels of heaven. This is indeed a lie, and quite offensive to God. His atoning sacrifice was ENOUGH!
Yet salvation has nothing to do with our works:
Ephesians 2:8–9 (KJV)
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Key truth: Salvation is a gift—not earned, not deserved, not achieved by good deeds.
Titus 3:5 (KJV)
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;”
Key truth: Even the best works cannot save us—only God’s mercy can.
So, can the very elect be deceived in the last days? YES, because I am a victim of religious deception myself, and have been my entire life.
How about you? Have you been told that: “Your Tithe Must Go to a Certain Institution” to count?
Truth (KJV):
There is no command that your giving must go to a specific denomination or building. The early believers gave directly to those in need.
- Galatians 6:10 – “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”
God honors giving to the poor, widows, missionaries, and ministries that preach truth—not necessarily big organizations with budgets and buildings.
Have you been told that the more money that you give, the greater blessings you will have in heaven? Or, if your tithes are not sufficient, you will be “Burned at His coming?”
Truth: Salvation and spiritual blessings come through faith in Christ, not money.
AGAIN…Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV)
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
God Cannot Be Bought
No amount of tithing earns more favor or a higher status in heaven.
Acts 8:20 (KJV)
“But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.”
Tithing mandated to go to a specific religious organization has got to be the #1 deception throughout religions. In doing so, they are asking that we build the “churches” kingdom, and not the kingdom of God. If your tithing donations have been rerouted into a $200 Billion stock portfolio of the church, you know what I am talking about.
Give it directly to the poor and those who are in need, for this is what Christ has taught. If it disqualifies you from receiving a temple recommend, as it did me, perhaps you should consider that the temple might be a business for the church, and not a place of divine purpose as you’ve been taught. Furthermore, if you study the temple in the New Testament, you will find:
1. Jesus declares the temple will be destroyed
Matthew 24:1-2 (KJV)
“And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”
🔹 Meaning: Jesus prophesied the destruction of the temple, symbolizing the end of the old covenant system of worship centered on the temple.
2. Jesus becomes the new temple
John 2:19-21 (KJV)
“Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?
But he spake of the temple of his body.”
🔹 Meaning: Jesus was pointing to Himself as the new temple—the new meeting place between God and man. His resurrected body replaces the physical temple.
3. God no longer dwells in temples made with hands
Acts 17:24 (KJV)
“God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands.”
🔹 Meaning: God’s presence is no longer confined to physical buildings. He now dwells in the hearts of believers.
4. Believers are now the temple
1 Corinthians 3:16 (KJV)
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”
1 Corinthians 6:19 (KJV)
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”
🔹 Meaning: The Holy Spirit dwells in believers, making them the true temple of God.
5. The veil was torn—access to God is now direct
Matthew 27:50-51 (KJV)
“Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom…”
🔹 Meaning: The torn veil symbolized that the barrier between God and humanity was removed—no more priesthood, sacrifices, or temple rituals were needed to approach God.
(I invite you to pray about this, for it is a tremendous deception. One that has hurt many of us deeply. This one stung me personally to the very core. To be spiritually betrayed is something which can destroy a person, however, I invite you to replace this deception with the truth. You will see that we will still have a wonderful relationship with those we love in heaven, as we all worship the Savior in bliss.)
What Can You Do?
- Cling to the Word of God (KJV) — Study it daily.
- Pray for discernment — Ask God to show you what’s true.
- Warn others — Share the truth in love, even when it’s unpopular.
- Don’t follow the crowd — Even if “everyone” is calling it holy.
Final Word
Jesus warned us because He loves us.
He said: “Take heed that no man deceive you.” —Matthew 24:4 (KJV)
So, I ask you today: Are you following the true Christ—or one that only looks like Him?
*Don’t fall for the light show.
*Don’t trust false miracles.
*Don’t be seduced by religious variations of the Gospel, different from what Christ taught when He was on the earth.
*Take every concerning topic of the gospel that is being taught to God in prayer, for He will reveal the truth which will be taught to you through your own personal revelation. I can speak of this first-hand from my own experience.
There is already a great chance that you have been deceived through your religious organization, and we haven’t even started with the Great Deception that is coming. I invite you to seek the truth about Jesus’ Gospel found in the New Testament. Take God along as you study these scriptures, and He will show you where you have been deceived, and better yet what the truth actually is. He will also help prepare you for what is to come.
Trust the Word. Trust the cross. Trust Jesus Christ alone.
