What This Park Ranger Tells These Volunteers Is Astoundingly Stupid!

If it wasn’t obvious enough that the government is not interested in doing good and that government agents are only interested in following orders even if that means that in following those orders they stop good people from doing good things…maybe this will be the straw that finally breaks that insane camel’s back for ya.

As the government shutdown enters week five, debris, trash, and snow are piling up at national parks across the country as the bureaucrats who get paid to maintain them stay home on an extended paid vacation. Luckily, though, volunteers from all walks of life have stepped up to fill their shoes and they’ve been doing a fantastic job—that is, when the government isn’t kicking them out.

A group of libertarians in Tennessee have been volunteering at national parks to do the bureaucrats’ jobs and they were doing it successfully, until this week.

As the volunteers with the Libertarian Party of Tennessee Delta Region began cleaning up Shiloh National Military Park over the weekend, they were quickly approached by Park Rangers who demanded they leave the property.

According to the representative from the Libertarian Party, the volunteers were told to cease their work and leave immediately.

About 30 minutes into their cleaning efforts they were told that they were not officially “volunteers” and would have to stop.

So…even though you’re acting as volunteers I say you’re not “official” volunteers because you haven’t filled out our government forms.

This is ridiculous. This guy in the park ranger suit is telling other fellow humans that they’re not allowed to clean up and pick up trash on this land mass known as a state park. And they’re trying to reason with this guy…let’s say we’re jogging along and we just so happen to pick up…Oh…please mr park ranger sir…please grant us your permission to pick up trash. The insanity couldn’t be more evident.

Because if he was aware of this illegal, land beautification activity he would have told them to stop as well

Bottom line here sir is that you may be acting in the capacity of volunteers right now…but you’re not volunteers till we say you’re volunteers.

So what if they told this guy…thanks for your opinion…thanks for interrupting our work…we’re gonna continue cleaning up the park…have a good day. Would this guy call for back up? Okay…what are we arresting these folks for…can you imagine the response for handcuffing, kidnapping and throwing these people into a cage. What’d you arrest ‘em for. They would stop cleaning up the park and picking up trash after they were given a lawful order to stop all that considerate activity. They should have just kept on raking and cleaning just to see what would happen.

Remember this is in Tennessee. The irony of being stopped from volunteering in the state whose motto is the “volunteer state” is the pinnacle of insanity and speaks to the nature and lunacy of government.
