Gillette's Toxic Ad Scores "Virtue" Points... and Then There's This!

It’s fitting and poetic that Gillette is a razor company because not only have they managed to slit their own throat as they hemorrhage whatever profits they made for their shareholders in 2018, apparently, they’re also slashing dislikes from their virtue signaling YouTube attempt at exposing toxic masculinity while they sprinkle in a little white guy bashing for good measure. And the general public is letting them have it.

Let’s go over some of their videos stats. As of the recording of this video, it has almost 20 million views in 5 days, with an astonishingly horrible dislike to like ratio. So bad in fact, they’re major contenders for the most disliked video of 2019. Good Job Gillette…might wanna think about shaving off your marketing arm before your shareholders wax the floor with ya. Pun intended.

In the description of the video we read: “Bullying. Harassment. Is this the best a man can get? It’s only by challenging ourselves to do more, that we can get closer to our best. To say the right thing, to act the right way. We are taking action at http://www.thebestmencanbe.org. Join us.”

So, Gillette wants all you men out there to say the right thing and act the right way. I wonder who’s going to determine what the right way to speak and the right way to act is. And what societal consequences does Gillette think should befall those men who don’t act the way they think they should.

Let’s click on this link to thebestmencanbe.org and see what direction Gillette…you know the razor company…not the philosophical society, not the think tank…the razor company…let’s see what direction they want socially engineered into our brains.

We go to their website and we read…

Since then, it has been an aspirational statement, reflecting standards that many men strive to achieve.

(So Gillette is crediting itself with setting and reflecting standards that men of society strive to achieve. They’re saying it’s been a statement that men have aspired to. No putting themselves on a pedestal, patting themselves on the back or giving themselves their own metal of honor going on there folks. I can’t remember when I’ve read something so pompous. …but…who better to tell us the level of goodness men should attain than Proctor and Gamble, the owners of the Gillette brand, who have been involved in gross human rights violations, deforestation of the Sumatra forest, trademark bullying, fake advertising photos, inhumane animal testing, and price fixing. But you can easily cover all that up when you have a 7.2 billion dollar advertising budget. So back to the hypocrites at Gillette)

But turn on the news today and it’s easy to believe that men are not at their best. (So…and appeal to believe Mainstream Propaganda…heck you don’t even need to turn on the TV…just watch the latest Gillette commercial. They’ll tell you how bad they think men are…especially white men.) Many find themselves at a crossroads, caught between the past and a new era of masculinity. (Did you guys know we’ve entered a new era of masculinity? I had no idea. Apparently Gillette thinks we have. I’ve heard of new eras….but not new era’s of what it means to be a male. Look it up an era is “a long and distinct period of history with a particular feature or characteristic” I wonder what feature or characteristic of masculinity Gillette is trying to point out in their new campaign that has NOTHING to do with how GOOD their razors work and everything to do with how BAD and in need of change they think men are.)

While it is clear that changes are needed, where and how we can start to effect that change is less obvious for many. And when the changes needed seem so monumental, it can feel daunting to begin. So, let’s do it together. (okay…they’re saying a bunch of nothing here. They tell us that “changes are needed” and those “changes needed” are…. “monumental.” But what changes are they talking about?)

It’s time we acknowledge that brands, like ours, play a role in influencing culture.

(How about this…how about we don’t want you to influence culture. We want you to make razors that work….that’s it. No politics, no policies, no influencing…just razors that won’t knick our faces)

And as a company that encourages men to be their best, (oh…you mean best like how you buy your palm oil from Felda Global Ventures in Malaysia who are known to utilize slavery in that region and have an enormous amount of complaints on the mistreatment of all workers and yet you still continue to support them. Is that the best you’re talking about in your video? So we can’t have two little boys scrapping in a yard, we can’t have a white guy pursuing an attractive white chick without being stopped by a stranger who happens to be black, but YOU can sanction the use of slavery so you can buy cheap commodities? Got it)

We have a responsibility to make sure we are promoting positive, attainable, INCLUSIVE and healthy versions of what it means to be a man. (anytime you see INCLUSIVE…you know exactly what they’re talking about with this social justice warrior, gender inclusivity talking point.) With that in mind, we have spent the last few months taking a hard look at our past and coming communication

and reflecting on the types of men and behaviors we want to celebrate. We’re inviting all men along this journey with us – to strive to be better, to make us better, and to help each other be better. (I wonder what the slaves on their palm oil plantations think about that statement)

From today on, we pledge to actively challenge the stereotypes and expectations of what it means to be a man everywhere you see Gillette. In the ads we run, the images we publish to social media, the words we choose, and so much more(….yeah…and so much more.)

So let’s see what visitors to Gillette’s stereotype-challenging, inclusive, culture influencing video have to say about it.

And the dislikes…don’t stop coming

They actually are removing the dislikes lol ? so pathetic

I didn’t believe it but youtube had removed my dislike as well. Wow. (this is a constant theme you’ll see in this comment thread. People are getting their dislikes removed. This guy from the youtube channel Todd’s videos has a video entitled “Gillette dislike manipulation video” where he shows by refreshing the view page that this video goes from 512,506 dislikes to 503,151 dislikes back up to 512 back down to 503 in a minute and a half. That’s almost a 10 thousand person difference in 90 seconds. I’ll leave that link for ya in the description. If you visit his channel tell him HighImpactFlix sent ya. He clearly catches youtube manipulating dislikes and likes. So I have no doubt that the dislike ratio is MUCH MUCH higher than is being indicated by YouTube’s rigged system. And let’s not sugar coat this. This is censorship. Neither YouTube who sent this video to top trending nor Gillette want people to know how much they actually bombed and how unpopular their society-destroying agenda actually is.

If only Gillette could shave soy

In the first day of this ad it had 700k+ dislikes, but you’re telling me after 3 days it now only has 900k dislikes?

I thought removing dislikes was a conspiracy but here we are, me disliking this video from the same account a third time

I hope that gilette understand that the reason most people are angry about this isn’t because they’re misongynistic wankers, it’s because this video implies that men today are accepting or encouraging the behavior of a minority of other men. especially in the part where multiple men echo the phrase “boys will be boys”. i myself have never in my life met someone who has said this, and i certainly haven’t met someone believes its sentiment. you CANNOT claim that a minority within a group represents the beliefs of the rest, and if misogynists, rapists, and sexists are the majority of men then nothing i have ever seen has proven that point, so maybe i’m just lucky.

This is the highest rated comment that I saw on this video with over 30k likes and 258 replies. “Thanks for the moral advice, multi-national company that was recently caught profiting off forced child labor and price fixing.”

I’m done with Gillette. Gillette just cut their own throat. Virtue signaling doesn’t sell. Not with me. Leave it to the politicians you fools.

Of the 42 males shown doing “negative” behavior, 41 are white 1 black. Of the 7 males shown doing “positive” behavior, 5 are black 2 white. Imagine if that was the other way around. (I haven’t confirmed the accuracy of these numbers but there is a startling disparity in the number of white men doing what Gillette claims is wrong in this video compared to other groups who are doing what is right by their standards.

I have used Gillette Mach 3 turbo blades exclusively for years. I don’t like Gillette preaching to me that as a white male, it is time for me to stop being a buffoon. I am a married family man and I am proud of the values I have instilled in my daughter and sons. This clean shaven white male has purchased his last Gillette product.

I hate white males and men in general. Can I move to the front of the line for a top exec job too? I’m also ok with child labor, Gillete.

Today we will reach 1M dislikes. Let’s see if we can get it to 2M dislikes by the end of the month! (I agree…if you dislike this Gillette video, share my video with everybody you know.
